J.E.B. Stuart at Gettysburg

As in the past, we met at James Madison University in the Allegheny Room on Friday, June 17th. We had three speakers who presented on J.E.B. Stuart and the Gettysburg Campaign, followed by a book signing and free time. The evening culminated with a full course dinner.

On Saturday, we departed for various sites in Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. We visited:

  - Rector's Crossroads (Atoka, VA)

  - Sykesville, MD

  - Westminster, MD

  - Union Mills, MD

  - Hanover, PA

  - Carlisle, PA

On Saturday evening, we boarded a stern wheeler, the “Pride of the Susquehanna”, for a light dinner cruise. We travelled along the Susquehanna River at Harrisburg, PA, as Jeff Wert gave a presentation based on his Stuart biography.

On Sunday, we visited Hunterstown, PA. We ended the trip by visiting Gettysburg, PA, and the East Cavalry Battlefield, where Jeff Wert discussed the engagement of Stuart vs. David Gregg.
